• Important access information – University Library refurbishment.

    The next stage of our refurbishment has begun earlier than anticipated; which means there will be no access to the 2nd floor of the University Library, from Friday 15th July until Friday 29th July inclusive.

     

    If you require items from this floor (Class numbers 000-599 on the Library catalogue) during this time, please see a member of staff at the ground floor helpdesk. We will do our best to obtain what you need but please be aware not all items will be immediately available. The remodelling of this area is a major reordering of the books and shelving and we may physically not be able to reach the item(s) you require. Individual Study rooms on this floor are also unavailable.

    1st floor study rooms are still available and can be booked via the Learning Services: Online Room Bookings link within Blackboard or via any helpdesk. We have also temporarily relocated some PCs to both the ground and first floor book stock areas.  Black and white printing will remain free in both the University Library and the LINC during this period of disruption.

    Learning Services would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we would like to thank you for you for your patience.

  • University Library refurbishment – This week!!

    The office space on the 2nd floor is being demolished to allow for the development of new study spaces on this floor. This area will also house the new Silent Study space.  All the open access PCs have already been removed from this floor, however new PCs will be in place ready for September. These will be housed in a reconfigured book stock area on the 2nd floor and in the open access space on the 1st floor.

    We have temporarily relocated some PCs to both the ground and first floor book stock areas and individual study rooms are still available on both floors.  Study rooms can be booked via the Learning Services: Online Room Bookings link within Blackboard or via any helpdesk.

     Whilst our remodelling is beginning to take shape over the next few weeks you may experience some disruption, but we are keen to keep this to a minimum.  Please ask at any Learning Services helpdesk if you need any help or more information.   • The Mobile Library Catalogue is here!

    We currently have a trial of a mobile version of the Library Catalogue. It is from Library Thing and is called Library Anywhere.

    It would be great if you could try it and feedback what you think. Ideas for what links should be on the first screen would also be welcomed.
