• Box of Broadcasts : Valentines Playlist – You had me at Hello…!

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching! Shops are full of roses and pink and red gifts, Krispy Kreme have released their heart shaped doughnuts and the TV is full of adverts for romantic compilation albums. This means it is the perfect time to get in the romantic spirit with our Valentines Playlist on BoB!

Laugh along with the trials and tribulations of Bridget Jones as she tries to find someone who can cope with her oversized knickers, dreadful cooking skills and interfering mother. The laughs continue with romantic comedies including He’s Just Not That Into You, Bride Wars and 10 Things I Hate About You.

You will need a box of tissues for The Notebook as you follow the love story of rich girl Allie and mill worker Noah. Keep the tissue box close at hand for tearjerkers Titanic, PS I Love You and The Time Travellers Wife. There are plenty of classics in the playlist too – from Pretty Woman to Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

It isn’t all films either! In the mix you will find popular TV show First Dates, where singles experience a blind date in front of cameras in a fancy London restaurant, along with a documentary about the stories behind romantic comedies, and a radio show with the poetry of Roger McGough.

To view the playlist, simply follow this link to Box of Broadcasts. When prompted to sign in, select Edge Hill University as your home institution and log in using your Edge Hill username and password.

Keep an eye out for our Awards playlist featuring films from a range of academy and award winning movies – coming soon!

There is plenty more you can do with BoB as well…

Box of Broadcasts is an on demand TV and radio service for education and can even be cited in your assignments. The academically-focused system enables students and staff to record from over 65 free-to-air channels including BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Four, ITV, Channel 4, Film4 and more! You can also search an extensive archive of over 2 million broadcasts from last night all the way back to the 1990’s!!

Available across all desktop, android and iOS devices you can watch live, request or record programmes. What’s more you can even create clips and themed playlists of your own! It has an easy to search format that provides detailed citation data to help you with academic referencing.

BoB is intuitive and simple to use so you may find you can start straight away. However, if you need a bit of help, take a look at our online guide or watch a video tutorial
