• Need to know more about using IT?

Did you know Learning Services have a number of web pages and guides to help students with the IT systems we use here at Edge Hill.

Within the support area of the Learning Services web pages we have a section ‘Help With University IT’ which provides some key information about the main systems you might use whilst at Edge Hill University.

You will find an overview of what the systems are, what they do and how you can access them. There is information about Learning Edge; Turnitin; Refworks; our library catalogue and the University email system.

If you are preparing for your assignment at the moment you might find the Microsoft Office 2010 guides useful, we have guides to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Just click on the link and you can look for the help you need or print it out so you have a reference copy when you need it.

We also have a number of guides to help with ‘Learning Edge’, these cover how to get started and some key help and support information about the system, and Turnitin but there are also some guides to the new Mobile Learn apps and how to set up notifications once you have downloaded the app.

Please get in touch with our help desk if you have any questions.

  • Enhancing your On-Screen PowerPoint Presentations – February 6th 2012

We are always striving to deliver interesting presentations to engage with our students and colleagues, so this workshop will give you ideas to improve your PowerPoint slide shows.

Using audio and visual objects in a presentation makes for a more interesting ‘watch’ but more importantly ensures your audience will remember the message. You can also use objects you have already developed.

Mixing both text and graphics we will be looking at customising slide shows for different audiences and building in links to other objects. We will also consider best practice in the production of PowerPoint slides.

‘Death by PowerPoint’ – No not here!

To book a place on this workshop, please register at the Staff Development WIKI
