With Spring fast approaching, the Winter break probably feels like a distant memory now. For many of you, this also means deadlines will be looming, and you’ll want to be getting those assignments finished to the best of your ability. For this reason, we thought it would be the perfect time to remind you about our New Year, New UniSkills Student Advisor ‘How to…’ videos.
The Student Engagement Team welcomed you back on 4th January with our New Year, New UniSkills campaign which saw a jam packed schedule of academic skills support to motivate you to get back in to study mode including UniSkills workshops, Student Advisor academic resolutions and ‘how to’ videos. Our fab team of Student Advisors shared their knowledge and expertise across our social media platforms to answer some of your most commonly asked questions. As you start to prepare for your upcoming assessments we thought you might like a refresher so we’ve put them all in to a handy You Tube playlist. Our Student Advisor ‘how to’ videos include:
- How to reserve a book
- How to find a book
- How to book a UniSkills webinar
- Finding a study space in Catalyst
- How to take a book out
- How to print from your laptop
How to Access Student Advisor Support
Our Student Advisors provide help, support and guidance to other students on a peer-to-peer basis. They can help you get the most out of the University Library and assist you in developing a range of introductory academic skills – such as how to use Discover More, navigate Learning Edge/Blackboard, and feel confident with Harvard referencing!
You might meet your Student Advisors during our UniSkills Webinars, where they attend as a chat buddy, or in one of their very own UniSkills Webinars! You can also contact us to book a peer-to-peer appointment with your Student Advisors. They can support you with all the topics mentioned above, and more – so if you’re not sure get in touch and we can help!
The Student Advisor team also create lots of useful content, including videos and blogs, so make sure you keep up-to-date by following Library and Learning Services on Twitter, Instagram, and on our blog.
