It is over a month since we went live with the new library catalogue. Feedback generally has been very positive and users do seem to like the clearer/more modern interface. There were two changes which did not go down so well. In our efforts to make the front screen more streamlined and less cluttered we did remove two links which caused our users some problems. We removed the Refworks link and the listing of online databases. All of these resources can be found by searching the library catalogue but you had become used to accessing them directly from the front screen. The links are back! We have re-instated the direct link to Refworks and the link to the alphabetical list of online databases. We really do appreciate your feedback on the library catalogue and welcome suggestions.
We have been working on the library catalogue to give it a more modern/streamlined feel. The icons have been updated and terminology altered. You can search for your reading lists and have a quick and easy access to our new Discovery tool. We do hope you like our new library catalogue and we welcome feedback from our users.
We will be doing some essential maintenance to the library catalogue between 5 pm and 7 pm on Thursday August 25th. Access might be affected during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to keep any downtime to the minimum.
We currently have a trial of a mobile version of the Library Catalogue. It is from Library Thing and is called Library Anywhere.
It would be great if you could try it and feedback what you think. Ideas for what links should be on the first screen would also be welcomed.
The Catalogue search is our live data and the link is : http://www.libanywhere.com/m/452
Please send your feedback to Liam Sullivan
It should work on iPhone, Blackberry and Android. When you give your feedback, it would be very helpful if you could mention the type of phone you are using. The trial will end on Friday 22nd July.
The British Library is currently undertaking a massive stock move and they have informed us that titles may be subject to delays of over 8 weeks.
Please consider this when you are placing any Inter Library Loan requests for either books or journals.

We were unable to do the upgrade on Monday 26th. It will now take place on Thursday 29th July from 3.00 until 5.00 pm
The library catalogue will be unavailable on Monday 26th July from 8.30 until 11.00.
We have added LibraryThing to the library catalogue. LibraryThing is a web2.0 enhancement. The main features include tag browsing, book recommendations (similar to Amazon) and the facility to link related editions and translations of the same work. We welcome feedback on this enhancement
