A warm welcome to your latest UniSkills Focus On… blog. In this edition we will be exploring a really useful search tool called Gale Power Search.

What does Gale Power Search offer?
Gale are a leading publisher of information resources for education and research and your Edge Hill University Library subscribes to a number of databases that will find academic journal articles, newspaper articles and eBooks. Gale Power Search is a great way of searching many of these resources in one place, rather than having to search multiple databases individually.
Gale Power Search will search the following databases:
- Gale Academic OneFile
- Gale General OneFile
- Gale OneFile: News
- Gale Literature: Scribner Writer Series
- Gale Literature: Twayne’s Author Series
- Gale eBooks
Gale Power Search also has additional features that will help you find journal articles and other sources, including:
- Topic Finder: a visual way of finding articles on your chosen topic
- Subject Guide Search: a subject index that will help you find articles tagged with particular subject terms
- Publications Search: the best way of finding a particular publication
What are the benefits of using Gale Power Search?
The databases that you can search with Gale Power Search cover every conceivable academic subject. That means that whatever subject you’re studying, whatever course you’re doing, Gale Power Search will find something for you.
