What does LinkedIn Learning offer?

LinkedIn Learning offers access to over 20,000 high-quality online courses and video tutorials written by industry experts which, as an Edge Hill student, you have full, free access to!

LinkedIn Learning has a wide range of topics and a number of positive features:

  • Courses are arranged into three groups: Business, Technology and Creative
  • Courses are written and designed by professionals who are experts in their field
  • Courses are video based, range in length from 10 minutes to four hours and you can dip in and out as you like
  • Many courses have accompanying exercises which you can complete as you work through the course
  • You can create playlists, focusing on your interests and development priorities – we’ve even created some useful playlists to get you started
  • LinkedIn Learning uses an algorithm which personalises your experience and will recommend courses according to your interests and career goals
  • Courses can be downloaded for offline use
  • There is an app for iOS and Android, so you can learn anytime, anywhere

What are the benefits of using LinkedIn Learning?

  • LinkedIn Learning can help you improve your academic performance through courses on topics such as improving your writing, time management skills and finding academic literature
  • It can help prepare you for the job market by helping you improve your relevant knowledge and skills. There are many useful courses on writing a CV and improving your job interview techniques which can improve your chances of getting your dream job
  • You can link LinkedIn Learning to your LinkedIn profile, highlighting your professional development to potential employers. When you have a completed a course you will receive a certificate that you can add to your LinkedIn account, showcasing your professional development
  • You can learn at a pace that suits you and your schedule

How to access LinkedIn Learning

You can click on the many links to LinkedIn Learning in this post or download the LinkedIn Learning app for iOS and Android, to learn on the go through your phone or tablet. You can also access LinkedIn Learning from the dedicated Tech Skills webpage, which also gives you more information about LinkedIn Learning.

You will need to set up your account when you access LinkedIn Learning for the first time, but this is very straightforward and for more information on how to do this there is a useful video.
