Now the Winter break is over and January assessments are coming to a close, it’s time to look towards Spring. And I think we can all agree, it can’t come soon enough! Exams and assessments will be coming up again in April/May so now is the perfect time to start planning ahead. Book Your Webinar

UniSkills Workshops and webinars are an opportunity for a deeper dive into a specific skill that will support you on your academic journey. Facilitated by our friendly and knowledgeable Academic Skills Advisors, these sessions provide an informal safe space where you will be supported alongside other students in a small group setting.

Our UniSkills Spring 2023 Webinar programme launches on 23rd January and covers a wide range of topics including:

  • Academic reading, writing and referencing
  • Effective exam preparation
  • Finding academic print and digital resources
  • Conducting a literature review
  • Presentation skills

Check out the full line-up and book your place through the student portal. There are various dates and times to choose from and there is no limit on the number of workshops you can attend. UniSkills offer a mixture of on campus workshops and online webinars, which can be accessed both on or off campus as you can attend in person or virtually through Blackboard Collaborate.  Watch our video guide for more details on how to really get the most out of attending a UniSkills workshop.

You, or your tutor, may feel you need some extra support with your academic skills as you progress throughout the academic year.  It may be that you need some support with developing your critical thinking, or how to find evidence in the literature for your assignments or how to ensure your referencing is as accurate as possible.

Our experienced Academic Skills Advisors can help you develop your academic skills and strategies throughout your time at university. One-to-one support is available on a wide range of topics including academic reading, writing and referencing, finding information, and preparing your assignment for submission.

You can book a 1-2-1 appointment with an Academic Skills Advisor via the student portal. You can choose the best date, time and location (in person or online) to suit your availability!
