Calling all students: Welcome to Discover More

Over the summer we launched our brand new library management system: Discover More. Your new single search tool for all your print and electronic resources at Edge Hill University.

We know this will be a new experience for anyone joining Edge Hill this year, but if you’re a returning student it’s likely you’ll also notice some small changes. But rest assure these changes have brought about some great benefits!

You can now search for all your resources, be that books, eBooks or academic journals, in one handy location. With improved discoverability of your Library resources Discover More will ensure you’re able to access everything you need for your studies!

Finding Academic Information

If you need any help getting to grips with the new system, the best place to find out more about accessing resources is our UniSkills web pages. Here you’ll find our dedicated Finding Academic Information web page, with a wealth of information and support including handy guides and video tutorials around what subject resources are available, where to find your reading lists and how to use Discover More.

UniSkills Workshops

Our popular Uniskills workshops and webinars programme returns w/c 11th October and covers a wide range of topics around information skills including academic reading, finding academic resources, conducting a literature review and much more!

If you’re keen to hit the ground running then why not join our Student Advisors all week Monday 4th to Friday 8th October at one of their lunchtime Get Going With UniSkills webinars. They will show you how to log on and navigate your Blackboard Institution homepage, how to find academic information for your assignments and tell you all about the support available from UniSkills!

1-2-1 Support

If you need more specific support you can also book a 1-2-1 appointment with an Academic Skills Advisor who can work with you to develop your information and research skills.

If you have any further queries about finding academic information or any other questions regarding the support available in Catalyst, you can contact the Catalyst Helpdesk Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm and Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 6pm.
