Awards Season is upon us, the time of year when the subtle dramas and indie fare slowly but surely supplant the big budget explosions in the cinema listings. Where everyone has a different answer for Film of the Year. The once hotly tipped front runner has been snubbed by the academy. And the film everyone loved suddenly gets too popular and goes on to suffer the inevitable backlash.

We’ve had the Golden Globes, the BAFTAs, every conceivable critics’ circle and guild, the newspaper editorials on what will and will not win, the surprises, the flops and the upsets, culminating in the Oscars on Sunday 26th February.

What better time to re-watch the winners of yesteryear, finally get around to seeing that critical hit you missed, or give that one film another go to see what all the fuss was about.

The nominees for your viewing pleasure can be found on our Box of Broadcasts           And the Award Goes to… playlist.

From Argo to All Quiet on the Western Front, from 12 Years a Slave to Gone with the Wind and everything in between.

After the music has played…
