When you love books as much as we do every day is World Book Day …but the official day of celebration takes place each year on the first Thursday in March.

This year it happens to fall on the same day as the University’s Feel Good Festival which will be a jam-packed day of events, activities and experiences celebrating all things fun, positive and spreading happiness across campus!

In support of good mental health the University Library will be in the HUB on Thursday 3rd March (10am-3pm) hosting our Big Book Swap event…because what better way is there to indulge your mind than reading a good book?

Simply bring along a book, hopefully one you have read, enjoyed and wish to pass on to another reader, and you can swap it free for another book from our wide ranging selection.

WBD Book Swap 2016Special thanks to library staff, friends and family, and to Book Cycle for their kind donation to our book swap selection!

“World Book Day is a celebration…of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.” – World Book Day, 2016

On the day you will also be able to find out what else is on offer in the library…Student Book Club, DVD’s, our lovely Fiction section, UniSkills support and much more…

But wait! If that wasn’t fabulous enough we will also be bringing along the Emergency Poet with us to the HUB (10am-3pm) to ease your cares away with poetic prescriptions and a good supply of poemcetamols!

What better way to celebrate World Book Day!
