“To read is to be entertained, challenged, reminded, enthralled or changed”.
Carol Ann Duffy, Poet Laureate

Learning Services invites all staff and students to share their love of reading with us. Just let us know in 140 characters why books are close to your heart and have the opportunity to win an eReader.

You can send us your thoughts by Thursday 13 December using either:

  • Twitter EHULearnService #EHUreading.   Use our #tag #EHUreading with your details and we will pick up your entries from Twitter everyday
  • Facebook  EHULearnService
  • One of our colourful postcards that you will find around the University sites. Drop the completed cards in any of our libraries (Ormskirk, Aintree, Woodlands or Manchester- Armstrong House).

Over the coming weeks, staff from Learning Services will be sharing their book choices and love of reading on our Facebook page so you will be able to find out about some of the things we like to read!.  Elliott the President of our Student Union is starting us off with why he listens to audio books…

The prize for the first entry drawn at random after the closing date (noon 13th December 2012) is an eReader, the runner up will receive a £20 book token.  We will let the winners know on the 13th, just before the end of term, so you might be getting an early Christmas present!

So if you agree with J.K.Rowling…

“I don’t believe in the kind of magic in my books. But I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book”

…then tell us about it!
