That Learning Services provide support for the AV technology within the classroom or lecture theatre environment.

If you are in a classroom and are experiencing a problem, your first point of contact would be to call the Learning Services helpline on ext 4286.

We provide three operational levels of technical support;

Level 1 – The staff are trained to guide you through any technical or operational difficulties you may be experiencing including PCs, data projectors and visualisers over the telephone.

Level 2 – If we cannot help you over the telephone we will arrange for a technician to attend and resolve the issue for you.

Level 3 – Occasionally there may be a problem we cannot resolve immediately and we would look to provide portable equipment where possible.  You may be required to move to another classroom if the issue cannot be resolved right away.

We monitor faults and resolutions on our RMS service desk software.  All calls are logged at a central point and a reference number given to each caller for tracking purposes. This allows us to be more proactive in identifying faults and trends with an aim of continually improving the service and resources that we provide.

The Media and ICT Technology teams are highly trained and qualified in their field of expertise. We can help you get the most out of the technology available on campus, anything from classroom or lecture theatre equipment – interactive whiteboards, microphones, projectors etc – to the specialist editing suites. We can provide training either in a group or on a one to one basis. For further information on training please contact [email protected]

We would welcome your feedback on our service.  Please email us at [email protected]
