Catalyst is now OPEN!

Catalyst is very close to completion and although not everything is ready for you just yet, we couldn’t wait any longer and have opened our doors! There is still quite a bit of work on going in the building across the floors including bespoke furniture for studying, appointment rooms, the coffee shop and we’re slowly receiving lots of excellent furniture for you to use. We really appreciate your patience as we work to complete Catalyst for you.

Where can I get help and find space to study?

Staff will be available to provide help and support at the Catalyst helpdesk on the ground floor of Catalyst at the following times:

  • Monday to Friday, 8am – 8pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 6pm

There is still quite a bit of work on going in Catalyst so we suggest heading up to the third floor for silent study and PC access.

More PCs will be added over the coming weeks on the ground, first and second floors. We’ll let you know when these are ready for you to use.

What about the books?

Please return books to the Catalyst Helpdesk, Ground Floor of Catalyst. Our shiny new returns machine is not quite ready for action yet so we’re doing things the old fashioned way. This won’t affect you though, you’ll get to see a friendly face when you return your books! We’ll keep you updated on when the returns machine is ready to use.

The entire library book stock is available for you to browse on the first and second floors of Catalyst. You can check books out via our new self-issue machines on the ground floor. They’re very easy to use but if you’d like some help, a member of staff from the Catalyst Helpdesk will be on hand.
