The purpose, politics, and prospects of higher education
The 2024 ACRE conference at Edge Hill University offers a forum for exploring and questioning policies and practices that shape higher education today, and the future prospects of the sector.
We welcome submissions from those working in higher education and related sectors: academic and professional services staff, policy makers, students, school teachers, leaders, and support staff.
Indicative themes:
• Higher education pedagogy and curriculum
• Metrics and accountability
• University-based teacher education
• Doctoral education and training
• Student support, mental health and wellbeing
• Internationalisation
• ‘Unbundling’ and restructuring of the university
• Access, participation, and inclusion
• New developments and challenges
• Educational research methodology
In addition to presentations of submitted work, the conference will feature researcher development sessions, Research Lab LIVE!, a ‘Meet the Journal Editors’ session, and guest keynote speakers.
The event is free for our Faculty of education partner schools and settings (booking essential: subject to availability).
We are delighted to again offer free places to the best three submissions from PGR/ECRs from external institutions.
