My name is Stuart Gould and I’ve been working in IT Services since March 2006, before that I spent 3 years working for Learning Services over in the LINC. I’m a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and have completed a number of other Microsoft qualifications.
In my current role I am responsible for support of the various software packages around campus such as Microsoft Office, SPSS and Maya. I have been heavily involved in the rollout and support of the university wireless network. I also worked on the Sun Ray project during the initial setup and configuration stage and the following installation of the Faculty of Health building.
The majority of my daily duties involve working with the rest of Technical Services to provide desktop support to our staff by responding to helpdesk calls. This can involve many things from dealing with an individual computer with a problem to updating software installations for the entire network.
I am currently working on projects which include the deployment of the Windows 7, Office 2010 and a migration to Microsoft Active Directory.
In my spare time I enjoy photography, I run a website dedicated to my photos which is proving to be very successful. I enjoy watching movies and Japanese Anime. I listen to a wide range of music and especially like metal, rock and indie. My interest in computing doesn’t end at the office and I operate a home network for my family to use. I also enjoy online gaming on the PC and I’m a bit of a console junkie owning an X-box 360, PS3 and Wii!!
