Don’t worry, be happy…

Hiya everyone,

I hope that you are all doing well and enjoying some peace after election week.

Over the past few months we have been working in partnership with the University in order to create an action plan for the Time to Change Pledge.

I am excited to announce that the action plan has now been submitted and we will be signing the pledge Thursday 27/3 at 12 noon.

Time To Change

The pledge includes a collaborative and ongoing programme of initiatives across the University to raise awareness and enhance the mental well being of all students and staff.

Time to Change is a nationwide awareness-raising campaign organised by mental health charities MIND and Rethink Mental Illness and we are proud to be a part of it. We hope to encourage people to worry less and talk more, with a programme of events designed to challenge mental health stigma and discrimination and highlight the support available.

As part of the campaign,  we will also be hosting a Mental Health and Well day, called Worrying Changes Nothing, Talking Changes Everything, which aims to show staff and students that talking about their concerns is the first step to making positive changes.

Come along to the hub to enjoy free anxiety-easing head massages and reflexology sessions, work out your stresses on gym equipment and talk to well being experts from the University and external organisations,  including Anxiety UK and Papyrus, a charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide.
