The Burn has operated as a student study and holiday centre since 1950 and we often host groups who are looking to escape the many demands of the modern world in order to complete a task or simply take time out to refresh and recharge batteries. We used to sell The Burn on the basis that we had no means of communicating with the outside world but this is not something we do now. The Burn offers you historic yet comfortable country house accommodation in a glorious rural setting. Walking routes abound and our main Georgian mansion house stands at the centre of a private 200 acre estate. There is a magnificent gorge walk along the River North Esk and the village of Edzell – an old Victorian spa destination – is just a mile away.
