Those of you who have already logged in to Pure will have spotted a curious section called ‘Outputs proposed for REF2021 by you (or on your behalf)’.

What’s that about then?

The first thing to note is that Pure will automatically propose an output on your behalf if one of your co-authors have proposed it for themselves. All such records will be given the ranking of ‘alternate’ (as opposed to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.).

Some of you may also have noticed since around the time of this post that there are some outputs in that section that weren’t proposed by you. But why was there a sudden influx? And why have some of your sole authored outputs been proposed without you doing anything? This is simply because we have imported the list of outputs that your UoA Co-ordinators were previously managing in EHRA into Pure.

What do you need to do?

Unless your UoA Co-ordinators have asked you to do something in particular, you don’t need to take action because they will review all proposals.

If it’s something you wanted to propose for the REF anyway, it would be a good idea for you to click on the proposal and edit the details – the reason you want to propose it, the ranking you want to give it, and so on.
