The National Institute for Health Research, under its public health research programme, invites stage 1 applications for its continuing priority research topics of interest commissioned call. This supports research in previously advertised research areas that represent enduring gaps in the NIHR portfolio and lack high quality research. Applications are invited in the following focus areas:
- choice architecture;
- health improvement interventions for offender or ex-offenders;
- health improvement for gay, bisexual, transgender and men who have sex with men;
- promoting healthy eating in minority ethnic groups;
- mid-life and physical exercise;
- sun exposure;
- age-friendly environments;
- health and wellbeing for older employees in the workplace;
- promoting independence in older people;
- household or community resources;
- enabling people to live well with dementia;
- gang violence and gang related harms to health
