Two parliamentary committees have urged the government to secure an early deal for research and innovation, and to ensure the UK can continue to take part in pan-European clinical trials.

The House of Commons Science and Technology Committee has called for a post-Brexit research deal with the European Union by October 2018 or earlier. “Reaching an agreement on this should now be as important to the government as addressing the question of security,” the committee said in its report led by chairman Norman Lamb (pictured) and published on 21 March.
