An alliance of UK health departments, research councils and charities are pleased to announce a new funding call to address challenges in the primary prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The UK Prevention Research Partnership (UKPRP) is an exciting £50 million initiative focused on improving population health, and reducing health inequalities, through the primary prevention of NCDs. It covers physical health as well as mental health and wellbeing in the UK.
The call seeks to build and support interdisciplinary research consortia and networks that will focus on the upstream-determinants of health; on developing large-scale solutions relevant to policy and practice; and on enabling change within complex adaptive systems.
The UKPRP will support two types of award:
Consortium award: £4-7 million for five years
Network award: £100,000 per year for up to four years
There is a two-stage process for applications for the awards. The call for outline applications closes at 16:00 on 18 January 2018.
