Augmented and virtual reality research could receive between £15 million and £20m in the second wave of topics funded by the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, Research Fortnight has learned.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is expected to announce the second set of ISCF challenges at about the same time as the autumn budget on 22 November. BEIS is still deciding on the final value of the call and whether it will be administered by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Economic and Social Research Council or Innovate UK, according to sources close to the department.
