\n\u2018The hotly anticipated winner of the prestigious Edge Hill Short Story Prize has been announced with literary giant Tessa Hadley winning the \u00a310,000 prize.\u2019 <\/p>\n

Delivering political messages through theatre in new Edge Hill Press book<\/a>
\n\u2018The third title from Edge Hill University Press was celebrated at an event in Foyles bookshop in London on Friday 2 November, part of a series of UK launch events.\u2019<\/p>\n

Graduate\u2019s debut play strips away the stereotype<\/a>
\n\u2018First class Drama graduate Sarah Sharp has set up her own theatre company, Succour Punch Theatre, who will perform Stripped at the University\u2019s Arts Centre on Wednesday 21st November.\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\u2018Vampires and the mythical character of Britain\u2019s forgotten Queen Marie of Romania will be explored at a special event celebrating Romania\u2019s centenary.
\nEdge Hill University is hosting Queen of the Damned celebrating the life and mystery of Queen Marie whose heart lies buried in Transylvania\u2019s clifftop Bran Castle, famed for being the home of Dracula.\u2019 <\/p>\n

High climbing researcher part of vital worldwide plant research group<\/a>
\n\u2018An Edge Hill University lecturer is helping to create a vital worldwide research group studying a special group of plants which grow high up in the canopy of tropical forests. Senior Lecturer in Plant Science Sven Batke, is one of the world\u2019s leading researchers studying epiphytes (air plants) which don\u2019t take root in soil and include ferns and orchids.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Weirdos come to Edge Hill<\/a>
\n\u2018Edge Hill graduate Peter Miller is joining forces with Mike McGear-McCartney to bring to life his \u2018Weirdo\u2019 series of sketches in the form of a series of animations.\u2019<\/p>\n

Academics challenge ballet images with ageing, fat dancers in \u2018The Buttcracker\u2019<\/a>
\n\u2018Edge Hill University academics are challenging the image of ballet by re-creating and queering photos of ageing and fat dancers in The Buttcracker.\u2019 (Mark Edward, Helen Newall). <\/p>\n
