Exam Revision and Inspiration<\/strong>\u00ae<\/strong> mind mapping software<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/strong>Inspiration<\/em>\u00ae software can be used as a tool for developing\u00a0\u00a0memorable exam revision techniques and is fun to use.\u00a0 The\u00a0\u00a0software is accessible to all Edge Hill students from the desktop\u00a0and is very easy to use.\u00a0 Users create a picture of their ideas and concepts in the form of a diagram or mind map and pictures can be imported from photographs.<\/p>\n

Inspiration<\/em>\u00ae<\/em> software stimulates visual and linear thinking and can aid memory retention and memory recall in exams. It is particularly useful for students with a visual learning preference.<\/p>\n

The visual representation of ideas means that revision becomes an active process. Inspiration<\/em>\u00ae can help you to organise and clarify your thoughts and ultimately save time. Notes can be condensed and topics summarised to make exam revision easier and information memorable.\u00a0 Gaps in understanding become more evident and recall is enhanced.<\/p>\n

After graduating in 1999, I started working as Inclusive Learning Facilitator supporting disabled students in their day-to-day studies. After being assessed as dyslexic, I decided to take qualifications in dyslexia support to compliment my facilitator role and improve my skills in student support. Having qualified, I began supporting dyslexic students at Edge Hill as a sessional advisor; a job I loved above my other roles at Edge Hill. In 2004 Learning Services launched the Edge Ahead Centre (Now Inclusive Services) to provide study support for all learners, including dyslexic students. In 2004 I decided to move away from my teaching and facilitation roles and applied for a full-time post and a Learning and Skills Advisor with the Edge Ahead team. In 2006 I was appointed as SpLD Coordinator and in 2010 I was appointed as the SpLD Support team manager. I live locally with my partner of 12 years and we have a very happy home with 2 lovely dogs, a west highland white terrier called Millie and a miniature schnauzer called Archie. We love walking and camping and we have a touring caravan.
