Over the years that followed further Acts were passed generating more and more equality for women voters.<\/p>\n<p>Jump forward 100 years and you only need to read the newspapers, or scroll through your social media streams, to see woman are again front and centre in many of the headlines around pay equality, sexual harassment and artistic recognition to name just a few.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout 2018 Edge Hill University will be marking the 100 year anniversary of women\u2019s suffrage with a series of events, installations, and activities across campus.<\/p>\n<p>The University Library, in collaboration with the Students Union, are also recognising 100 years of women\u2019s suffrage by bringing together a collection of reading material in the library foyer to keep the conversation going.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2018\/02\/WW-Display-BLOG.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8308 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2018\/02\/WW-Display-BLOG-672x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"890\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2018\/02\/WW-Display-BLOG-672x1024.jpg 672w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2018\/02\/WW-Display-BLOG-197x300.jpg 197w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2018\/02\/WW-Display-BLOG-768x1170.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are a wide selection of books on display from dystopian novels such as <a href=\"https:\/\/capitadiscovery.co.uk\/edgehill\/items\/64361\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/capitadiscovery.co.uk\/edgehill\/items\/1347\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">history of women in Britain<\/a> to explorations into <a href=\"https:\/\/capitadiscovery.co.uk\/edgehill\/items\/109520\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">feminist movement<\/a>. If you are keen to read more about women\u2019s studies there are lots more books on the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> floor of the library (<em>shelfmark 301.412 is a good place to start<\/em>) or have a search of the <a href=\"https:\/\/capitadiscovery.co.uk\/edgehill\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">library catalogue<\/a> for your topic\/title of choice.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in having a chat about all things feminism the SU will be hosting a self-defined women only brunch entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/390709401388127\/\">Food and Feminism<\/a> on Tuesday 13<sup>th<\/sup> February (11am-1pm).
