{"id":7588,"date":"2016-09-28T13:00:32","date_gmt":"2016-09-28T12:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/?p=7588"},"modified":"2016-09-27T15:22:18","modified_gmt":"2016-09-27T14:22:18","slug":"poetry-walk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/2016\/09\/28\/poetry-walk\/","title":{"rendered":"Take a walk with us&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>National Poetry Day is the annual celebration of all things poetical and this year the University Library invites you to join us for a week of activities including a poetry walk around our beautiful campus!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2016\/09\/Poetry-Day-16.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7589\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2016\/09\/Poetry-Day-16-256x300.jpg\" alt=\"Poetry Day 16\" width=\"256\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2016\/09\/Poetry-Day-16-256x300.jpg 256w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2016\/09\/Poetry-Day-16.jpg 643w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The world as we know it today is so very busy, and we are in such heavy demand from emails, telephone calls, assignments, social media&#8230;&#8230;we felt it was only fitting to take some time out from the daily stresses and reflect on something a little more relaxing!<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday 6<sup>th<\/sup> October we invite you to take some time out from your daily MESSAGES and escape with us on a poetry walk around campus.<\/p>\n<p>The walk will meet in four different locations to allow students and staff to join the group at different times to suit your lunch hour&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>12:00<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 The University Library foyer<br \/>\n<strong>12:30\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 The Sunken Garden<br \/>\n<strong>13:00<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Durning Centre entrance<br \/>\n<strong>13:30<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Sports Centre entrance<\/p>\n<p>At each location a poem, around the 2016 theme of messages, will be read aloud and there will be opportunity to discuss. You can even take inspiration from your surroundings and have a go writing your own poem&#8230;or just bring along an existing favourite to share!<\/p>\n<p>This is a FREE event, no booking required, just drop in (and out) as you need to!<\/p>\n<p><em>NB: Unfortunately we cannot predict the weather so please dress accordingly on the day and you are very welcome to bring\/eat your lunch with us too!<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Poetry Day is the annual celebration of all things poetical and this year the University Library invites you to join us for a week of activities including a poetry walk around our beautiful campus!
