{"id":7503,"date":"2016-05-14T09:00:14","date_gmt":"2016-05-14T08:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/?p=7503"},"modified":"2016-05-13T16:22:43","modified_gmt":"2016-05-13T15:22:43","slug":"learning-services-on-location-bringing-support-to-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/2016\/05\/14\/learning-services-on-location-bringing-support-to-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Learning Services On Location &#8211; bringing support to you!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During May, Learning Services will be \u2018On Location\u2019 in your faculty to offer academic and administrative staff help and advice on a wide range of services. \u00a0Engaging with staff is key to our service and recent feedback from the academic staff survey highlighted that staff would find it very useful if we could be around in your buildings and departments\u00a0to provide bespoke support.<\/p>\n<p>Each event will run between 10am-3pm and will offer different ways in which you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>MEET <\/strong>a range of Learning Services staff to discuss your needs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>LEARN <\/strong>how Learning Services can help you achieve your (course\/online\/development) goals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>DEVELOP <\/strong>your (Library &amp; Learning Edge) knowledge with practical discussions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our first event is <strong>Wednesday 18th May in the Faculty of Education Building<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There will be CPD events throughout the day from Learning Technology Development, Academic Support, Digital Capabilities Development, Classroom Technologies support and Learner Support (SpLD) teams, whilst Librarians, Learning Technologist and Skills Advisors will be available for help.<\/p>\n<p>In<strong> E16 you can drop-in<\/strong> and meet the Learning\u00a0Services FOE Teams for problem solving and learn\u00a0more about how we can support you.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>E22 a range of our teams are offering bite-sized\u00a0CPD<\/strong> to enhance your practice.<br \/>\nThe programme for the day in E22 is:<\/p>\n<p>10am \u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Find out about Learning Technologies &#8211; LTD Team<\/p>\n<p>11am &#8211;\u00a0A partnership approach to education resources &#8211;<br \/>\nRuth Wilson &amp; Andy Tomkins<\/p>\n<p>12pm &#8211;\u00a0Digital capabilities &#8211; Heather Johnston<\/p>\n<p>1pm &#8211;\u00a0Lecture capture &#8211; Howard Turpin<\/p>\n<p>2pm &#8211;\u00a0Changes to Disabled Student Allowances and\u00a0inclusive practices &#8211; Andrew Billington<\/p>\n<p>Just before the event we will be dropping in to see people to ensure you know when and where we will be on the day and whether you want to make an appointment for a 1-2-1 on the day.<br \/>\nFor more details or if you would like a 1-2-1 appointment\u00a0with one of the teams (we can come to your desk), contact\u00a0Rachel Bury, Academic Liaison Manager.<br \/>\nEmail: <a href=\"mailto:rachel.bury@edgehill.ac.uk\">rachel.bury@edgehill.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please make a note in your diaries for the Faculty of Health and Social Care (25th May) and Arts and Sciences (31st May) dates and we will be out and about with more information and reminders just before the day. \u00a0Again, colleagues in those faculties can make an appointment for a 1-2-1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ON LOCATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MEET.
