{"id":6676,"date":"2015-04-30T11:06:09","date_gmt":"2015-04-30T10:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/?p=6676"},"modified":"2015-04-30T11:06:09","modified_gmt":"2015-04-30T10:06:09","slug":"some-highlights-from-term-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/2015\/04\/30\/some-highlights-from-term-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Some highlights from term 2!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It seems like only yesterday that we were saying hello to\u00a0our brand new students, and welcoming back our 2nd\/3rd years and postgraduates! \u00a0So it&#8217;s hard to believe that we are already at the start of the third and, for many, the final term of 15\/16&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>We are in a thoughtful and reflective mood again this week, so join us in looking back at the highlights from the second\u00a0term.<\/p>\n<p>Following a really popular week of 24\/7 opening in December, the library was again open 24\/7 for a massive 4 weeks from 2nd &#8211; 27th March 2015.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-6607\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2015\/02\/LS0415-247-library-plasma-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"LS0415 247 library plasma\" width=\"304\" height=\"178\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a whopping 624 hours of uninterrupted study time!<\/p>\n<p>Our <a title=\"Ask Us\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ehu.ac.uk\/askus\" target=\"_blank\">24\/7 live chat<\/a> service is still proving popular and our <a title=\"Ask Us\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ehu.ac.uk\/askus\" target=\"_blank\">Ask Us knowledge base<\/a> now has over 230 answers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have continued to expand and improve access to resources. \u00a0We know that you love your text books and in terms 1 and 2 we purchased a massive 11,000 new books for library stock. We know that sometimes we just don&#8217;t have the exact book that you need, but with our <a title=\"Add a Book\" href=\"http:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/add-book\/\" target=\"_blank\">Add a Book<\/a>\u00a0service just tell us what you want and we buy it! Nearly 500 of you\u00a0have done\u00a0just that since September.<\/p>\n<p>As well as physical text books, 491 electronic books were selected by customers and purchased by the library between January and March 2015 &#8211; \u00a0that&#8217;s an investment of an additional \u00a357,000 in our collection.
