{"id":4881,"date":"2013-01-02T13:35:41","date_gmt":"2013-01-02T13:35:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/?p=4881"},"modified":"2013-01-02T13:35:41","modified_gmt":"2013-01-02T13:35:41","slug":"now-you-can-download-ebooks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/2013\/01\/02\/now-you-can-download-ebooks\/","title":{"rendered":"Now you can download ebooks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is now possible to download an ebook, or a section of an ebook to read offline.<\/p>\n<p>Two of our ebook providers, Ebrary and Dawson, offer this option, allowing you the convenience of downloading and reading information for when you haven\u2019t got an internet connection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ebrary<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">You can create an image PDF of a specific chapter or page range:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Same page limits as for printing.<\/li>\n<li>Accessible on most computers and devices, including the Kindle.<\/li>\n<li>Files do not expire.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080\"> Learn more: http:\/\/0-support.ebrary.com.library.edgehill.ac.uk\/?p=655<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">You can download an entire document as an ebook:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accessible on most computers and devices.<\/li>\n<li>You can have up to 10 documents at a time.<\/li>\n<li>Documents can be full-document downloaded for 14 days. (Single-user-only documents can be full-document downloaded for 7 days.)<\/li>\n<li>There is no need to return items, they will auto-delete after 14 days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080\"> You need to install Adobe Digital Editions (free online). For a guide on how to do this go to http:\/\/www.eshare.edgehill.ac.uk\/1388\/<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dawsonera<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">You can download an ebook from the Full Title Display of the Reader portal.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Read the ebook offline utilising Adobe Reader\u00a9 controls.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate through the ebook using the nested Table of Contents on the left-hand side.<\/li>\n<li>During the download period, you can make annotations and highlight text.<\/li>\n<li>Please note it is not possible to print or copy offline.<\/li>\n<li>The book will auto-delete after the chosen loan period (1-3 days)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is now possible to download an ebook, or a section of an ebook to read offline.
