{"id":3953,"date":"2012-04-23T15:42:25","date_gmt":"2012-04-23T14:42:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/?p=3953"},"modified":"2012-04-23T15:46:11","modified_gmt":"2012-04-23T14:46:11","slug":"student-top-tips-mobile-learn-learning-edge-customisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/2012\/04\/23\/student-top-tips-mobile-learn-learning-edge-customisation\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Top Tips: Mobile Learn &amp; Learning Edge customisation!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past month in LTD we have focused our attention to the eLearning survey in relation to the main student queries related to the Learning Edge. \u00a0This has given me the opportunity to assemble some information on certain areas of feedback\u00a0received. \u00a0Two of the main areas that caught my attention was the request for a mobile app to gain access to Blackboard and consideration for more options to customise the way you can view your course list within Learning Edge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-3954\" style=\"line-height: 14px\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2012\/04\/BlackbaudLogo-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"90\" height=\"90\" \/>One of the main questions that kept reappearing from students was the request for <strong>\u201ca tablet\/smartphone app to access Learning Edge\u201d?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">This is something that has been available since the beginning of this academic year. The app is called Blackboard Mobile Learn and can be downloaded from your device\u2019s (iPhone, iPod, iPad, Blackberry, Android) local app store.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">Learning Edge isn\u2019t optimised for mobile use, so using the Mobile Learn app will display Blackboard in a different but more mobile-friendly way; the picture below shows how it looks on different devices:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2012\/04\/Devices_imagelarge.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3955\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2012\/04\/Devices_imagelarge.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2012\/04\/Devices_imagelarge.png 550w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2012\/04\/Devices_imagelarge-300x221.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2012\/04\/Devices_imagelarge-150x110.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The app will give you access to your Blackboard course dashboard, announcements, assignments, grades, discussions and handouts. You\u2019ll also be able to contribute to and comment on discussion and blog posts, and create new discussion threads. Hold down the \u2018Ctrl\u2019 key and press \u2018F\u2019 on your keyboard and you will get a \u2018Find\u2019 box pop up within your browser.
