Your Learning and Support Services Induction will introduce you to Catalyst specialist support teams across: Library and Learning Services<\/a>, Student Services<\/a>, and Careers<\/a> and how to access the invaluable support they offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019re curious about Catalyst and want to find out more about the services and facilities we\u2019ve got the perfect solution.\u00a0Join us for a Student Led Catalyst Tour<\/strong> with your friendly Student Advisors as they showcase the services and facilities on offer. Tours depart every half hour from Catalyst ground floor and last approximately 20-30 minutes. No bookings required, just drop-in on one of the following dates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you can\u2019t wait to visit Catalyst you can take a Student Led Virtual Catalyst Tour <\/strong>or explore our interactive 360 Catalyst Tour<\/strong> over on the Learning and Support Services Induction page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n UniSkills <\/strong>provide a wide range of face-to-face and virtual support <\/strong>designed to help you develop your academic skills<\/strong> and confidence <\/strong>on a wide range of topics including: <\/p>\n\n\n\n There are various ways you can access UniSkills support including online via the UniSkills webpages<\/a> where you\u2019ll discover\u00a0handy guides, video tutorials<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0interactive online toolkits<\/strong>\u00a0all\u00a0available 24\/7<\/strong>. For an opportunity to dive deeper into a specific skill that will support you on your academic journey, you can book a UniSkills workshop or webinar<\/strong>. Or for more tailored support you can also book a one to one appointment<\/a> via the UniSkills portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before you begin writing your first assignment you will need to think about your\u00a0research<\/strong>,\u00a0reading\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0resources<\/strong>. You can explore your print and electronic resources through the University Library search tool\u00a0Discover More<\/a>.\u00a0Your\u00a0Subject Resource pages<\/a> also contain relevant\u00a0journals\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0databases,\u00a0newspaper collections<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0useful websites<\/strong>. If you need any help finding academic information we have lots of handy\u00a0UniSkills toolkits, videos and guides<\/strong>\u00a0on the\u00a0Finding Academic Information page<\/a>\u00a0or explore our\u00a0UniSkills Focus On blog series<\/a>, we publish a new resource topic every last Friday of the month to help you get the most out of your eResources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The SpLD Disability Support team<\/a> also offer support for students at the University who have, or wish to explore, any challenges related to Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and ADHD. The team offers two pathways for students to access support and technologies that may be helpful in developing study skills strategies and mitigating the impact of any challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019re keen to hit the ground running you will have another opportunity to join your\u00a0Student Advisors<\/a>\u00a0all week\u00a0Monday 27 to Friday 31 January<\/strong>\u00a0as they take you on a virtual guided tour of your essential support areas.
