A brief summary of the process follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic staff email us\u00a0their reading lists\u00a0which should include student numbers and module semester dates<\/li>\n<li>Information Resources staff check the reading lists against the library catalogue<\/li>\n<li>Book suppliers web sites are checked\u00a0for the most up to date edition\u00a0of the\u00a0book\u00a0and to see if\u00a0the book is available electronically<\/li>\n<li>This enables us\u00a0check we have enough copies in stock\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>We can digitise a chapter of a book if an ebook is not available.\u00a0 There are certain copyright restrictions on this service so do check with your academic liaison librarian<\/li>\n<li>Your academic liaison\u00a0librarian makes the final decision as to how many copies\u00a0to buy and in which format<\/li>\n<li>The module code is added to the bibliographic record in the library catalogue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0How will this help the students?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This process ensures we purchase the correct stock<\/li>\n<li>Students can type their module code into the library catalogue and bring up their reading list<\/li>\n<li>Teaching staff can embed a URL into the VLE which will take the students directly to the reading list<\/li>\n<li>The reading list can contain links to electronic journals, ebooks, online databases and past exam papers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Academic Staff can send the reading lists to:<\/p>\n<p>Faculty of Arts &amp; Sciences <a href=\"mailto:fasreadinglists@edgehill.ac.uk\">fasreadinglists@edgehill.ac.uk<sup> <\/sup><\/a><br \/>\nFaculty of Education <a href=\"mailto:foereadinglists@edgehill.ac.uk\">foereadinglists@edgehill.ac.uk<\/a><br \/>\nFaculty of Health <a href=\"mailto:fohreadinglists@edgehill.ac.uk\">fohreadinglists@edgehill.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Colette Hughes &#8211; Information Resources Manager<\/p>\n<p>Maureen Richardson &#8211; Electronic Resources Manager<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each year Learning Services requests that academic staff\u00a0 submit their reading lists for checking and ordering.
