The list is endless but here is a snapshot of what we came up with:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A time to reflect: If you&#8217;re required to write reflectively on your course, consider keeping a reflective diary over the summer. What did you do? What were your feelings about the event? What was good about it? What might you do differently next time? Reflecting on things you enjoy will help you in the future as you can adapt this next year to sound more academic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Getting organised: Summer may be a good time to get organised, for example clearing your desktop and tidying away resources you no longer need. Consider your preferences for organisation. If you store you documents electronically &#8211; are they easy to locate when you need them, do you have a system for storing them, if so, can this be improved? If you prefer paper based- consider your filing system &#8211; can colour coding be utilised?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep up with reading #Keen: Keep reading newspaper articles you&#8217;re interested in (doesn&#8217;t have to be course related) and think about the article critically &#8211; do I agree with the author? Do I have a different perspective? What is that? What are the positives of the article? What are the negatives? Is it one-sided? This will help you to keep training your critical thinking over the summer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resources refresh: The summer might be a good to time to consider how you visualise time &#8211; would it be helpful to have a whole year view calendar to visually prepare for key deadlines over the year ahead at a glance. Plan in enjoyable events, things to look forward to and colour code these in the calendar to break up academic year \u2013 need a calendar templates \u2013 book a Study Skills 1-1 to access some or build a bespoke one with advisor. Could it also be time to freshen up your pencil case?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accessible Technologies: Summer is a great time to explore how accessible technologies can support you in your studies. &nbsp;Why not try out MindMapping, a great way of collecting your thoughts and planning your time and work. &nbsp;All students at the university can download a copy of Inspiration MindMapping software and the summer is an ideal time to explore how you could integrate this into your planning activities. &nbsp;You can find out more about the software, engage with a video outlining how to create a MindMap and download the software on our webpages <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehu.ac.uk\/assistivetech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.ehu.ac.uk\/assistivetech<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just a reminder, SPLD advisors are here for in person or virtual appointments.
