No need to carry home piles of heavy books!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We subscribe to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/edgehill.on.worldcat.org\/oclc\/895773573\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Box of Broadcasts<\/a><\/strong> which provides access to television and radio streamed for academic use. This saves on purchasing DVDs and Blu-Rays.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Old textbooks are made available to students at regular <strong>Pass the Book<\/strong> events. Textbooks that aren\u2019t needed by students are donated to Better World Books to support students learning overseas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Archive boxes are made from recycled materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Library and Learning Services have several staff representatives on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.edgehill.ac.uk\/sustainnet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SustainNET<\/a><\/strong>, the network community working to advance the sustainability agenda both at Edge Hill University and in the local region. This enables the department to feed into the wider sustainability initiatives of the University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Edge Hill research repository, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/research.edgehill.ac.uk\/\">Pure<\/a><\/strong> tags papers authored by our academics to align research with sustainability development goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2022\u2019s Open Access week had the theme <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/2022\/10\/24\/celebrate-international-open-access-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open for Climate Justice<\/a><\/strong> and we used this to highlight EHU research aligned with this theme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All Edge Hill staff and students have access to the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/edgehill.overdrive.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Libby app<\/a><\/strong>, enabling them to browse books and magazines on their devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a curated <a href=\"https:\/\/libbyapp.com\/library\/edgehill\/curated-1349523\/page-1\">collection<\/a> of sustainability eBooks on the <strong>Libby app<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Library and Learning Services has an extensive print <strong>fiction and well-being<\/strong> collection which staff and students can borrow from.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We&nbsp;have moved away from <strong>single-use plastic<\/strong> items for prizes,&nbsp;giveaways and engagement activities. We\u2019ll be talking more about this in the coming months!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The library does not subscribe to print newspapers, newspapers are available through our subscriptions to <strong>Lexis+<\/strong> and <strong>Gale One File<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All teams within Library and Learning Services have moved towards<strong> electronic marketing <\/strong>for events and services, rather than using paper posters and flyers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The SpLD Team has moved to electronic student record files instead of paper files.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All Library and Learning Services staff training materials are provided electronically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Catalyst caf\u00e9 offers a discount for customers using their own refillable cups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The caf\u00e9 offers <strong>vegan<\/strong> food and milk options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recycling points<\/strong> are available throughout the Catalyst building where students can recycle paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and more\u2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Catalyst has 900 study spaces, 450 of them with computers enabling students to study together in a warm secure space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are 100 <strong>laptops<\/strong> you can borrow to use on and off campus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you\u2019d like to learn more about any of our sustainable initiatives, please just get in touch. <a href=\"mailto:Catalystenquiries@Edgehill.ac.uk\">Catalystenquiries@Edgehill.ac.uk<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:lsacademicengagement@edgehill.ac.uk\">lsacademicengagement<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2023\/03\/image-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"508\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2023\/03\/image-2.png\" alt=\"A lake set against a forest scene.
