Power imbalances affect communities\u2019 abilities to produce, disseminate, and use knowledge and share responses and address these imbalances. Open Access provides an equalising method to prevent this problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tackling the climate crisis requires a rapid exchange of knowledge across geographic, economic, and disciplinary boundaries. This year\u2019s theme seeks to encourage connection and collaboration among the climate movement and the international open community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who organises International Open Access Week<\/strong>?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>International Open Access Week was founded in 2008 by <a href=\"https:\/\/sparcopen.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SPARC <\/a>(the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition) and partners in the student community.
