You can check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/services\/computer-availability\/\">PC availability<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/services\/study-room-bookings\/\">book a study room<\/a> before you arrive, and discover your perfect study space across the four main floors: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ground Floor \u2013 Social Study<\/li><li>1<sup>st<\/sup> Floor \u2013 Group Study<\/li><li>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Floor \u2013 Quiet Study<\/li><li>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Floor \u2013 Silent Study <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important to make sure you are also taking effective study breaks \u2013 we highly recommend the <strong>roof garden<\/strong> (open daily 11am-3pm, weather permitting) for beautiful panoramic views across campus and some mind calming fresh air!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Catalyst itself is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during term time so if you\u2019re an <strong>early bird<\/strong> or a <strong>night owl <\/strong>there is something for everyone! If you are visiting after hours just remember to bring your UniCard along to swipe access into the building. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/learningspace\/ormskirk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">View current opening hours here\u2026<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#ffe368;font-size:25px\" class=\"has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Making the most of Catalyst support if you\u2019re an Early Bird ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re planning to arrive early on campus, don\u2019t sit in your\ncar until class begins \u2013 be green, turn off your engine and come inside cosy\nCatalyst. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Most\nimportant meal: <\/strong>53.3 Degrees, Catalyst\u2019s fab\ncoffee shop, is open from 7am every weekday so why not take advantage of a hot\n(or cold) breakfast. Throughout the day you can also grab a range of hot and\ncold drinks and food, including those all essential study snacks! <em>Tip: their vegan sausage rolls give Greggs a\nrun for their money!<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Get\na head start<\/strong>: Log in and catch up with your emails, check for any module \/ tutor\nupdates and prep for your day ahead. You will often be set pre-lesson reading\nand it is important to complete this to get the most out of your lectures and\nseminars. Use your mornings to familiarise yourself with topics or even do some\nwider reading, so you can contribute effectively in your classroom discussions.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Academic Skills Support<\/strong>: If there\u2019s a particular piece of work you\u2019d like some help with, or you need some guidance navigating your reading and research, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/uni-skills\/face-to-face-support-2\/?tab=1-2-1-appointments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">book a UniSkills 1-2-1 appointment<\/a> weekdays 8am-6pm. Whether you\u2019re looking for a part-time job, interested in volunteering, want to know more about the Student Opportunity Fund, or are unsure where to start with graduate job applications \u2013 come along for a chat and a free bite to eat! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Find your calm: <\/strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/studentservices\/chaplaincy\/?tab=faith-and-reflection-room\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Faith and Reflection Room<\/a> provides a quiet space for reflection, contemplation and prayer for the exclusive use of staff and students at Edge Hill. Open to people of all faiths and none, it offers the opportunity to explore matters of faith and spirituality, or just simply to find your calm before a busy day. You will find the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/studentservices\/chaplaincy\/?tab=faith-and-reflection-room\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Faith and Reflection Room<\/a> in the Magnolia Building, next to the Forest Court Halls of Residence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#316e88;font-size:25px\" class=\"has-text-color has-background has-white-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Making the most of Catalyst support if you\u2019re a Night Owl ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re more productive as the sun goes down ? then here\u2019s\nsome great tips, activities and support available after hours:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Research, Read and Write:<\/strong> If you find you\u2019re buzzing with ideas after the days classes then why not make a start on your research, reading and assignments. There is lots of academic skills support available 24\/7 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehu.ac.uk\/uniskills\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">ehu.ac.uk\/uniskills<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You could start by revisiting your lecture \/ seminar notes to\nsummarise your key themes, recommended reading or highlight any gaps in your\nknowledge you\u2019d like to research further. Quieter evenings lend themselves to\nreading and research (especially on the quiet (2<sup>nd<\/sup>) and silent (3<sup>rd<\/sup>)\nfloors). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Access the <a href=\"https:\/\/capitadiscovery.co.uk\/edgehill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Library Catalogue<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/discover-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Discover More<\/a> and your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/subject\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">specialist subject databases<\/a>. Your online <a href=\"https:\/\/edgehill.rl.talis.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Reading List<\/a> is also a must for essential and recommending reading, especially if you are looking for a good place to start! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make an assignment plan, create your search strategy or simply\nstop procrastinating and get writing! If you\u2019re nearing submission then\ncomplete your final edits, print it out and proofread before you upload to\nTurnitIn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re not quite ready to knuckle down with your study, or just\nneed a well-earned break (these are important too!) then there are plenty of\ngreat activities hosted by Catalyst support teams:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chillout\nTuesdays: <\/strong>meet your Campus Connectors, every other Tuesday evening 5pm-7pm,\nin the Catalyst foyer (by the comfy seats!) for chilled-out games, crafts and a\nchat!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/studentservices\/campus-life-2\/that-thursday-thing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">That Thursday Thing<\/a>: <\/strong>is the informal weekly meet-up of people who want to meet up with other people. Join in, every Thursday 5pm-7pm, to relax, chat, watch films, play games, listen to music or whatever you fancy doing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Try Something New: <\/strong>If you fancy trying your hand at 3D printing, or would like to give a new sport a go, look out for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/techskills\/\">TechSkills<\/a> and Pop-in and Play sessions.
