{"id":11252,"date":"2019-11-25T14:01:09","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T14:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/?p=11252"},"modified":"2019-11-25T14:02:13","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T14:02:13","slug":"learning-at-work-week-impact-awards-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/2019\/11\/25\/learning-at-work-week-impact-awards-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Learning at Work Week &#8211; Impact Awards 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We are very pleased to announce that in the Learning at Work Week Impact Awards 2019 we have won in two categories \u2018Shaping Digital Futures\u2019 and \u2018Innovation in Learning &amp; Development\u2019!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"514\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/ls\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2019\/11\/Logo_LearningAtWorkWeek_ImpactAwards_CMYK-06-1024x514.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11254\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning\nat Work Week took place in May and provided staff in Catalyst with an\nopportunity to not only get to know each other but develop their skills and\nexpress their interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During Learning at Work Week<strong> 28 creative and informative sessions<\/strong> took place, delivered by both internal and external members of staff. These sessions were predominantly delivered by staff within Catalyst, as it gave staff the opportunity to inform colleagues about their services\u2019 developments and an opportunity to share their skills and interests. The sessions were very well received with staff commenting on there being \u2018plenty of variety\u2019 and \u2018something for everyone\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside face to face activities we also launched <strong>DigiQuest 2.0<\/strong>. This year\u2019s quest prompted staff to explore and investigate new pieces of digital technology, allowing them to enhance and develop their digital capabilities. Activities included creating an infographic, learning the basics of Excel, analysing their digital footprint, making online quizzes and participating in Twitter chats. The choice of tasks were described as \u2018varied\u2019 and staff relished the opportunity to try out tools they had never explored previously. The theme for DigiQuest 2.0 was around space exploration, selected to coincide with the theme of Learning at Work Week. The exploration of space links to \u2018Shaping the Future\u2019 as they both revolve around progression, development and progress.&nbsp;Staff enjoyed the \u2018inventive\u2019 space theme and found the opportunity to achieve digital badges \u2018motivating\u2019.
