width=\"128\" height=\"128\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Following the our recent transition from the Section Merge Tool (SMT) to the Course Relationship Tool (CRT), I thought it would be a good idea to follow up with a blog post on some useful user management techniques in Learning Edge\u00a0course areas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4111\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2015\/03\/bb_ca_usersandgroups.png\" alt=\"bb_ca_usersandgroups\" width=\"210\" height=\"244\" \/><strong>Course Management &#8211; Control Panel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The topics discussed will focus on the Users and Groups section in the course Control Panel and will be particularly useful for Course Administrators.<\/p>\n<p>You can\u00a0modify a user&#8217;s Role and <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-4124 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2015\/03\/bb_context.png\" alt=\"bb_context\" width=\"173\" height=\"98\" \/>Availability from\u00a0the context menu arrow, next to the users username:<\/p>\n<p><strong>User Availability<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-4112 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2015\/03\/bb_ca_course_options.png\" alt=\"bb_ca_course_options\" width=\"190\" height=\"118\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This replaces the function to &#8216;Remove Users from Course&#8217; which used to\u00a0delete the user&#8217;s enrolment.<\/p>\n<p>You can now &#8216;Change the User&#8217;s Availability&#8217;\u00a0which allows you to toggle if the user can view this course or not.<\/p>\n<p>Effectively setting the availability of the users <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-4113 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2015\/03\/bb_available.png\" alt=\"bb_available\" width=\"243\" height=\"40\" \/>enrolment to available (Yes) or unavailable (No).<\/p>\n<p>This also provides the added benefit of\u00a0being able to switch back instantly, should you need to.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Selection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-4122 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2015\/03\/bb_ca_user_options.png\" alt=\"bb_ca_user_options\" width=\"190\" height=\"118\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Similarly, a users role can be modified in the same way.<\/p>\n<p>By selecting &#8216;Change User&#8217;s Role in Course&#8217; you can modify the users course role by choosing one\u00a0from the predefined list:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2015\/03\/bb_role_availability.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
