{"id":3866,"date":"2014-10-27T16:44:08","date_gmt":"2014-10-27T16:44:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/?p=3866"},"modified":"2014-10-27T16:44:08","modified_gmt":"2014-10-27T16:44:08","slug":"blackboard-catalyst-award-how-learning-edge-helped-the-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/2014\/10\/27\/blackboard-catalyst-award-how-learning-edge-helped-the-win\/","title":{"rendered":"Blackboard Catalyst Award: How Learning Edge helped the win!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Learning Technology Development<\/strong> (LTD) Team has had a very successful 2014.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve implemented and seen some great things happening with technology enhanced learning throughout the University.\u00a0 More noticeably the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/2014\/09\/22\/tab-tastic-learning-edge-now-has-faculty-specific-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\">faculty specific tabs and resources<\/a> generated on Learning Edge and of course the continuing success of all the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/2014\/08\/13\/lets-use-powerpoint-to-move-away-from-powerpoint-with-ispring\/\" target=\"_blank\">iSpring resources<\/a> for staff and students. With this in mind I can\u2019t help but think \u2018where we would all be without the training and development to understand and support its use on a daily basis?\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cast your minds back to early May this year when you might recall that <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/2014\/05\/09\/award-winning-staff-development\/\" target=\"_blank\">Edge Hill University received a Blackboard Catalyst Award<\/a> for the Developing Digital Excellence (DDE) series under the University\u2019s Staff Development programme.\u00a0 Blackboard commended the DDE programme for its dynamic approach and good practice based on its blended provision of staff development with its use of TEL related tools.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As part of the award, <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.blackboard.com\/blackboard-catalyst-awards\/?lang=uki\" target=\"_blank\">Blackboard invited myself and Carol Chatten<\/a> to present a live webinar to an international audience on 16<sup>th<\/sup> October 2014.\u00a0 Here we had the opportunity to share our experiences on creating and managing the Developing Digital Excellence series and of course highlight the areas that enhanced the sessions delivered.
