and feel that the assessor has their best interests at heart, providing a motivational boost.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3590\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2014\/07\/SpeechBubble.png\" alt=\"SpeechBubble\" width=\"150\" height=\"82\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2014\/07\/SpeechBubble.png 624w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2014\/07\/SpeechBubble-300x163.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2014\/07\/SpeechBubble-500x272.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>The students engaged far more readily with the screencast feedback \u2013 often viewing it more than three times.\u00a0 There was also a perception that the feedback took significantly longer to produce \u2013 yet Carl found creating the screencasts took him about the same length of time as previous methods.<\/p>\n<p>Carl\u2019s approach is significant because many studies indicate increasing student engagement with qualitative feedback improves students\u2019 outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Carl has created a screencast that outlines the technique and discusses how he analysed the data.\u00a0 Potential issues are also identified, such as raising students\u2019 expectations.\u00a0 Here\u2019s the link: <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/P5R69BvjJDI\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/youtu.be\/P5R69BvjJDI<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Your next steps?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Create a screen cast of your own &#8211;
