{"id":342,"date":"2011-08-23T09:43:23","date_gmt":"2011-08-23T09:43:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/?p=342"},"modified":"2012-02-21T16:06:35","modified_gmt":"2012-02-21T16:06:35","slug":"new-academic-year-new-technologies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/2011\/08\/23\/new-academic-year-new-technologies\/","title":{"rendered":"New Academic year..new technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we all prepare for the new academic year, Learning Technology Development would like to invite colleagues to their new\u00a0series of Emerging Technologies work shops.<\/p>\n<p>The first of our new programme of work shops is on <strong>7th September 2011 from\u00a0\u00a01.00pm 2.00pm.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>QR Codes: Are they Mainstream yet?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This quick, 1 hour interactive workshop will introduce participants to the world of Quick Response (QR) Codes these are 2D barcodes that can be scanned with a smart phone, iPod Touch or similar.\u00a0 Anyone with a smart-phone can scan and read QR codes with the click of a camera, and anyone with access to a computer can generate QR codes themselves for free.<\/p>\n<p>Workshop participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the potential of QR Codes and discover how to create their own.
