Since its launch in 2000, Blackboard opens its Catalyst Awards each year which includes the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackboard.com\/About-Bb\/Industry-Leadership\/Catalyst-Awards\/Exemplary-Course-Program.aspx\">Exemplary Course Program<\/a>\u00a0(ECP).\u00a0 The aim is to support the use of e-Learning technology more effectively by identifying and disseminating best practices for designing engaging online courses.<\/p>\n<p>Using Blackboard\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackboard.com\/getdoc\/7deaf501-4674-41b9-b2f2-554441ba099b\/2012-Blackboard-Exemplary-Course-Rubric.aspx\">rubric<\/a>, tutors are able to evaluate how well their own course(s) conform to the best practices for\u00a0<strong>Course Design<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Interaction &amp; Collaboration<\/strong>,<strong> Assessment and Learner Support<\/strong><b>\u00a0<\/b>before program entry<strong>.<\/strong><b>\u00a0<\/b>Courses can then be submitted to the program, which are reviewed by a team of peer reviewers and then by the directors of the Exemplary Course Program.\u00a0 If successful your course will receive recognition internationally from Blackboard and as part of the accomplishment you will also be invited to attend\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackboard.com\/BbWorld\/home.aspx\">Blackboard World in Las Vegas<\/a>, July 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Last year I had the pleasure of collaborating closely with my colleagues to support and oversee our institutions\u2019 debut submission of courses to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackboard.com\/About-Bb\/Catalyst-Awards\/Exemplary-Course-Program.aspx\">2013 Blackboard Exemplary Course Program (ECP)<\/a>.
