Since its launch in 2000, Blackboard opens its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackboard.com\/About-Bb\/Industry-Leadership\/Catalyst-Awards\/Exemplary-Course-Program.aspx\">Exemplary Course Program<\/a> (ECP) each year.\u00a0 The aim is to support the use of e-Learning technology more effectively by identifying and disseminating best practices for designing engaging online courses.<\/p>\n<p>Using Blackboard\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackboard.com\/getdoc\/7deaf501-4674-41b9-b2f2-554441ba099b\/2012-Blackboard-Exemplary-Course-Rubric.aspx\">rubric<\/a>, tutors are able to evaluate how well their own course(s) conform to the best practices for <strong>Course Design<\/strong>, <strong>Interaction &amp; Collaboration<\/strong>, <strong>Assessment and Learner Support <\/strong>before program entry<strong>. <\/strong>Courses can then be submitted to the program, which are reviewed by a team of peer reviewers and then by the directors of the Exemplary Course Program.\u00a0 If successful your course will receive recognition internationally from Blackboard and as part of the accomplishment you will also be invited to attend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackboard.com\/BbWorld\/home.aspx\">Blackboard World in Las Vegas<\/a>, July 2013.<\/p>\n<p>This year is the debut appearance for Edge Hill University with the institution submitting its first ever courses to the program, with one entry from the Faculty of Health and two entries from the Faculty of Education.<\/p>\n<p>From the Faculty of Health, the online module <a href=\"http:\/\/info.edgehill.ac.uk\/EHU_eprospectus\/Health\/module.asp?id=310\">\u2018Vascular Disease Management\u2019<\/a> is to be submitted for review.\u00a0 Senior Lecturer Chris Jones has been acknowledged for his use of online learning technology, design quality and communal interaction.\u00a0 Chris was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/news\/2012\/08\/innovator-chris-invited-to-international-health-conference\">previously acknowledged<\/a> for his e-learning course design last year when he was invited to showcase his module to the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) in Bologna, Italy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2013\/01\/testpic1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1982\" title=\"HEA3178\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2013\/01\/testpic1-1024x385.png\" alt=\"HEA3178 Promo\" width=\"584\" height=\"219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2013\/01\/testpic1-1024x385.png 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2013\/01\/testpic1-300x112.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2013\/01\/testpic1-500x187.png 500w, https:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/learningedge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/2013\/01\/testpic1.png 1915w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From the Faculty of Education, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/study\/courses\/mathematics-specialist-teacher-programme-mast\">Mathematics Specialist Teacher Programme (MaST)<\/a> will submit a module from their ever successful MaST course.
