Consider what needs to be delivered via a presentation, what needs to allow interaction, discussion or group work&nbsp;and also&nbsp;what could simply be delivered as reading with a follow-up activity.&nbsp; <\/li><li>Ensure any content that students will be required to work through, read or act on is available and not hidden by settings or rules (adaptive release)&nbsp; <\/li><li>Identify your new expectations for students, bearing in mind the different home circumstances and access to reliable technology&nbsp;or broadband<\/li><li>Prioritise&nbsp;getting any assessments set up i.e. Set up of Turnitin&nbsp;dropboxes, or adjusting the assessment method if suitable&nbsp;<\/li><li>Pre-recording&nbsp;rather than live delivery&nbsp;is recommended to&nbsp;minimise the risk of technical issues for you or students. <\/li><li>Check your equipment &#8211; make sure you have what is required to deliver your sessions &#8211; i.e. headphones and a microphone.  Don&#8217;t rush out and buy something &#8211; you may be able to use the hands-free set that came with your mobile phone<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #1982d1\" class=\"ugb-highlight\">If possible, use&nbsp;tools and approaches familiar to you and your students. Keep it simple.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use tried and trusted communication methods&nbsp;<\/li><li>If your students are used to online group work, use it. If they connect for Collaborate sessions, use it. If they access Panopto lectures, provide these.&nbsp;<\/li><li>If using new tools e.g. Panopto or Collaborate then keep it simple, try it beforehand and always record what you do so those who hit difficulties&nbsp;can return to it.&nbsp;Remember the students may be unfamiliar with this method if you are.&nbsp;<\/li><li>If you are normally confident in exploring and trying out new technologies, then perhaps build in a low risk activity to try out something new.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #1982d1\" class=\"ugb-highlight\">Communicate with your students&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Communicate with your students as soon as possible, informing them that changes are coming and what your expectations are for checking email or Blackboard so you can get them more details&nbsp;when available.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Supply them with details on where to get&nbsp;help, and&nbsp;repeat that message regularly.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Encourage students to support each other&nbsp;<\/li><li>Provide \u2018office hours\u2019 when they can contact you&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The guidance on these pages is intended to support the continuation of educational activity in the event of any requirement to work remotely due to Coronavirus advice.
