I hope you are all starting to get excited about starting at Edge Hill in September. I just wanted to post a quick blog to pass on some important information about Student Finance applications. The deadline for new students applying for full-time support this year is Friday 25th June. If you don’t apply in time – supplying all the evidence we have asked for – you may not receive your money at the start of term.
The applications are not handled by the University but by Student Finance England who provide help and information online through a specific frequently asked questions page for full-time students.
There is also lots of information available for part-time students and for parents and partners of students on the Directgov website.
Edge Hill Scholarships
The deadline for applying for the Edge Hill Excellence Scholarships is also Friday 25th June 2010. If you are a sportsperson, a performer, an active volunteer or you possess creative talents you should definitely try applying for a scholarship which is worth up to £2,000.
You can apply regardless of your chosen degree subject, allowing you to gain some recognition for achievements in your spare time. Visit the website to find out more and download an application form.
Edge Hill Bursary
If you will be a full-time undergraduate or PGCE student and you qualify for one of the bursaries from Edge Hill, these are awarded to you automatically. The financial information is gathered from your main student finance application and then you will receive any additional funding automatically – you do not need to apply separately.
If you would like to find out more information about the Edge Hill specific bursaries you can visit our website:
So the message is, get your Student Finance application in before 25th June, if you haven’t done it already and check out the Edge Hill Scholarships because if you don’t apply you’ll never know!
