Study abroad is an amazing opportunity that Edge Hill offers. It allows students to take a break for a year (or semester depending on your course), to go abroad and study a subject. This can widen your knowledge and experience and possibly improve skills such as learning a new language.
The best thing to do is to find out what places Edge Hill are in contact with, which you can have a look at here:
The list of places you can go to is broad, and it suggests the best countries to go to depending on the subject you would like to study. For example, doing a TV and Film production course, the best place to study abroad is Czech Republic, due to it being a film school.
You can get funding through Erasmus however, that is only if you go to a European country. The Erasmus grant allows you to get up to €300 extra a month depending on parental income. You can also apply for the student opportunity fund, allowing you up to £2000 extra to help cover accommodation and food.
There is a travel grant you can apply for as well with study abroad. You pay £303 first then, any flights after that will be covered by the University for up to 3 return flights in the year.
Study Abroad is definitely an opportunity I would recommend to anyone who would like to travel more or, improve their CV. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.
