Graduation is a university milestone. It’s a day that you will look back on in years to come. That’s why you want to make sure you have everything sorted and know what you’re doing on the day. That’s why in today’s blog post I have listed some tips and tricks for a successful graduation day.
One of the most important things to do, especially if you’re travelling to your graduation, is to set an alarm.
This is obvious for many reasons, as you will want time to get ready, need time to get up there, and it will be less stress on you and everyone around you if you do wake up in time. This is also important as late students will not sit with their degree program and if you’re very late, then you may not get the chance to walk up. So make sure you’re ready in time.
Stay hydrated and take regular bathroom breaks before the ceremony. Once the ceremony starts, opportunities for a drink or even the bathroom will become limited so make sure that you’re ready beforehand.
Make sure to tell your guests where to meet you after the ceremony. Once the ceremony ends, hundreds and hundreds of people are gonna flood out of the health building, so finding your family may not be an easy task if you do not give them a place to meet you. Suggest a specific spot beforehand, such as the lake outside, near a bench, by the art centre, where ever you feel would be easiest for you and your guests. Additionally, when it comes to the guests you invite, make sure to tell them to dress up! This isn’t required as such, however, many people love a good chance to dress up and celebrate, as they should. This also saves them the embarrassment of under dressing and feeling self-conscious.
Remember to dress comfortably. Graduation is a long day in itself but with all that standing and sitting, you’re going to want to be dressed comfortably. Also whatever you decide to wear, make sure you really love it as these will be photos to look back on.
Don’t wear new shoes. Breaking in new shoes can hurt, which is not what you want on this long and tiring day. So make sure to wear out your new shoes first, and definitely make sure you can walk in them!
Finally, have fun! Thanks for reading my post, I hope you found it somewhat useful for your graduation day.
Until next time!
