How to Deal with Having the Flu

No one likes being ill, but unfortunately, it happens from time to time. Right now I’m battling the flu as I write this post. That’s why today I will be blogging about how to get rid of the flu!


Sleep is a huge part of the road to recovery, which may seem very inconvenient, however, sleep has been proven to help speed up your recovery. So make yourself a cup of tea and tuck yourself up into bed for the night, set no alarms and just relax.


Of course, taking medicine can help your cold. There is an array of medicine that is available in many different supermarkets that cater for any type of flu you may have.


One of the most important aspects of getting over your flu is eating the right food.
If you have a sore throat eat:
Soft foods such as mashed potatoes.
Cold foods like ice cream and ice lollies will help soothe your throat.
Nonacidic juices, such as grape or apple juice, won’t irritate your throat.
Warm mint teas.
Warm, cooked pasta, including macaroni and cheese.
Cooked vegetables.
Fruit or vegetable smoothies.

There are also foods which are generally good for you when you’re ill, such as:
Tea.
Bananas.
Soup.
Spicy food.
Fruit and vegetables.

Staying hydrated is equally important when you’re ill.  


It’s also a nice idea when you’re ill to have a shower or bath, depending on which one you enjoy more/have. Steamy showers are great for when you’re bunged up with mucus, as they can open up your airways more. And baths are just nice and relaxing.


And finally, when you’re ill you should take it easy. Watch some Netflix or Youtube, get some ice cream, read a book, whatever you do to relax, do it, as you’re body can’t get better if you’re running around.
