Ormskirk, where in the world is that?

Ormskirk is a little town in between Liverpool and Southport. Ormskirk is where Edge Hill University is situated. Ormskirk is where I have lived for the past three years.

If you are like me and worried about coming to a place called ‘Ormskirk’, and lets face it if you haven’t been here before Ormskirk sounds like that strangest place in the world, then here is a little insight into what to expect.

Ormskirk is an old market town but that doesn’t mean that it is not geared up to students. We have various bars including Alpine, Mustard, Loft, Liquid, Styles. We also have various restaurants and pubs which are lovely and cheap so ideal for students. We also have useful shops such as Superdrug, Boots, Aldi, Morrisons. We have everything you need but also Ormskirk is not too far away from Liverpool which has every shop you can possibly think of.

Ormskirk is already really connected by the train and bus because you have links to Southport, Wigan, Preston and Liverpool where you can walk across to Liverpool Lime Street and pretty much travel anywhere you want across the UK. We are also not too far away from Liverpool John Lennon Airport so if you wanted to fly somewhere it isn’t a hassle.

Ormskirk might seem small and not very lively when you visit but once you’ve stayed a few days you begin to realise that actually it is ideal for a University Student with everything on the doorstep and prices being kept low, what more could you want?
